The authors consider existence of solutions to the perturbed evolution inclusion \[ -\dot{u}(t)\in A(t)u(t)+F(t,u(t)) \] where \(F\) is a mixed semicontinuous set valued function (but not necessarily convex valued). (``Mixed'' is in the sense of [\textit{A. Tolstonogov}, Differential inclusions in a Banach space. Transl. from the Russian. Revised and updated edition. Dordrecht: Kluwer Academic Publishers (2000; Zbl 1021.34002)].) For the situation in which \(A(t)\) is maximal monotone and \(F\) is compact valued, existence of absolutely continuous solutions is proven in a separable Hilbert space. An existence result for a sweeping process is proven as a corollary. Then, two results are given in a separable reflexive Banach space for the case in which \(A(t)\) is m-accretive. First, existence of a \(W^{1,\infty}\) solution is proven for the case in which \(F\) is convex and weakly compact valued. Second, existence of an absolutely continuous solution is demonstrated for the case in which \(F\) is compact valued. These are applied to obtain existence of a unique periodic solution, to several relaxation results governed by m-accretive operators and other problems concerning optimal control, asymptotic behavior and the Skorohod problem. A nonlinear Volterra integro-differential inclusion and a fractional derivative problem are also considered.
