The following Caristi-type theorem is proved: Let \((X,d)\) be a complete TVS-cone metric space over the ordered TVS \((E,\preceq)\), \(T:X\to 2^X\) and let \(\varphi:X\to E\) be a lower semicontinuous and bounded below function. If for each \(x\in X\) there exists \(y\in Tx\) such that \(d(x,y)\preceq\varphi(x)-\varphi(y)\), then \(T\) has a fixed point \(x^*\in X\); moreover, if the previous inequality holds for each \(y\in Tx\), then \(\{x^*\}=Tx^*\). A fixed point result for \((\delta,L)\)-weak contractions in a pseudo Hausdorff-Pompeiu metric defined by the given cone metric is obtained using the previous result.
