The paper exhibits a relation between the partition function of the Ising model on a planar tri-valent graph and the generating series of the spin network evaluations on the same graph. The milestone is to put in evidence a relation between the generating function of the spin state and the square of the generating function of the Ising state. One considers only tri-valent graphs in which every vertex has exactly three edges. The identification involves three main steps. Firstly, one represents the Ising generating function by fermionic Gaussian integrals on a space of fermions, then one computes the spin generating functions as a standard bosonic Gaussian integral, and then one can put in evidence a supersymmetry which relates fermions and bosons.
