A \textit{Cameron-Liebler line class \(\mathcal{L}\) with parameter \(x\)} is a set of lines of the projective geometry PG\((3,q)\) such that each line of \({\mathcal L}\) meets exactly \(x(q+1)+q^2-1\) lines of \(\mathcal{L}\) and each line not in \(\mathcal{L}\) meets exactly \(x(q+1)\) lines of \({\mathcal L}\). Many other equivalent definitions of Cameron-Liebler line classes are known, making them of interest from different points of view. The authors present in this article a new existence condition for Cameron-Liebler line classes in PG\((3,q)\). They introduce a matrix with numerical information on Cameron-Liebler line classes. They show the non-existence of Cameron-Liebler line classes with parameter \(x\in \{6,8\} \) in PG\((3,4)\) and give a new proof of the non-existence of those with parameter \(x\in \{4,5\} \) in PG\((3,4)\). They also prove the uniqueness of the Cameron-Liebler line classes with parameter \(x=7\) in PG\((3,4)\), discovered by \textit{P. Govaerts} and \textit{T. Penttila} [Bull. Belg. Math. Soc. - Simon Stevin 12, No. 5, 793--804 (2005; Zbl 1142.51005)]. They then concentrate on Cameron-Liebler line classes in PG\((n,4)\), \(n\geq 3\), and obtain the complete classification of these Cameron-Liebler line classes in PG\((n,4)\). The results of this article inspired the work of \textit{A. L. Gavrilyuk} and \textit{K. Metsch} [J. Comb. Theory, Ser. A 127, 224--242 (2014; Zbl 1302.51008)], where great improvements to the known non-existence results on Cameron-Liebler line classes in PG\((3,q)\) were discovered.
