There is discussed asymptotic behavior of a solution to the Cauchy problem for the equation \[ u_{tt}-\Delta u+b_{0}(1+| x| ^{2})^{-\alpha /2}(1+t)^{-\beta}u_{t}+| u| ^{\rho -1}u=0,\text{ where } t>0,\, x\in \mathbb {R}^{N},\, b_{0}>0,\, \alpha ,\beta \geq 0, \, \alpha +\beta \in [0,1) \] and the initial data are in a weighted energy spaces. The authors improve the decay rate of the solution for \(\rho \in (1+2/(N-\alpha ), (N+2)/(N-2))\), given in their proceeding paper [J. Differ. Equations 248, No. 2, 403--422 (2010; Zbl 1184.35213)].
