Let \((R,m)\) be a commutative and Noetherian ring with \(1\), \(M\) be a finitely generated \(R\)-module and \(I \subset R\) be an ideal such that \(m^nM \subset IM\) for some \(n>0\). \(M\) is called Ulrich module if \(M\) is a maximal Cohen-Macaulay \(R\)-module, where the minimal number of generators of \(M\) (i.e. \(v(M)\)) and the multiplicity of \(M\) with respect to \(I=m\) (i.e. \(e(M)\)), are the same. As a first main result, the authors generalize [\textit{S. Goto} et al., Math. Proc. Camb. Philos. Soc. 156, No. 1, 137--166 (2014; Zbl 1295.13018), Theorem 5.1] and [\textit{T. Kobayashi} and \textit{R. Takahashi}, Q. J. Math. 70, No. 2, 487--507 (2018; Zbl 1423.13138), Proposition 4.1]. Next, they consider the behaviour of Ulrich property under the operation of horizontal linkage over Gorenstein local rings, and also with the class of modules with minimal multiplicity.
