The Pierce expansion digits obey 1) the law of large numbers (LLN), 2) the central limit theorem (CLT), and 3) the law of the iterated logarithm (LIL) in the sense of the Lebesgue measure. \N\NIn this paper, the author determines the Hausdorff dimensions of certain subsets of the half-open unit interval \((0,1]\) defined in terms of Pierce expansion digits, including the sets originating from the LLN, the CLT, and the LIL. In the process, the three problems of \textit{J. Galambos} [Representations of real numbers by infinite series. Cham: Springer (1976; Zbl 0322.10002)] for Pierce expansions are completely solved. The first main result is concerned with the growth speed of the digits and the LLN. The second main result is about the Hausdorff dimension of the certain set in a general setting. The third main result is concerned with the ratio between two consecutive digits. The fourth main result is concerned with the ratio between the logarithms of two consecutive digits. The fifth main result is concerned with the sets arising from the CLT and the LIL.
