This paper is about the Fukaya algebra of a monotone Lagrangian submanifold [\textit{Y.-G. Oh}, Commun. Pure Appl. Math. 46, No. 7, 995--1012 (1993; Zbl 0795.58020)] \(L\) of a symplectic manifold \((X,\omega)\), in the presence of a Hamiltonian circle symmetry. A useful tool to study Fukaya algebras is the closed open string map \[ \mathcal{CO}^*: \mathrm{QH}(X) \to \mathrm{HH}^*(L;L) \] from the quantum cohomology of \(X\) to the Hochschild cohomology \(\mathrm{HH}^*(L;L)\). This map is of major importance in symplectic topology. In particular, the injectivity of \(\mathcal{CO}^*\) implies various split-generation results [\textit{M. Abouzaid}, Publ. Math., Inst. Hautes Étud. Sci. 112, 191--240 (2010; Zbl 1215.53078); \textit{A. F. Ritter} and \textit{I. Smith}, Sel. Math., New Ser. 23, No. 1, 533--642 (2017; Zbl 1359.53068); \textit{N. Sheridan}, Publ. Math., Inst. Hautes Étud. Sci. 124, 165--317 (2016; Zbl 1453.53079)]. Although \(\mathcal{CO}^*\) is hard to compute practically, an important piece of it can nevertheless be captured by the degree zero part \(\mathcal{CO}^0\). The paper in review contributes explicit calculations of the closed-open string map. Of particular interest is the image of the Seidel element \( \mathcal{S}(\gamma)\) [\textit{P. Seidel}, Geom. Funct. Anal. 7, No. 6, 1046--1095 (1997; Zbl 0928.53042)] associated to a Hamiltonian loop \(\gamma\) under \(\mathcal{CO}^*\). Note that, \(\mathcal{S}\) is a morphism \[ \mathcal{S}:\pi_1(\mathrm{Ham}(X, \omega))\to \mathrm{QH}^{\times} \] where \(\mathrm{Ham}(X, \omega)\) denotes the group of Hamiltonian diffeomorphisms, and \(\mathrm{QH}^{\times}\) the invertible elements of the quantum cohomology of \(X\). This morphism is extensively studied to get information on the quantum cohomology of symplectic manifolds. In [\textit{F. Charette} and \textit{O. Cornea}, Isr. J. Math. 211, 67--104 (2016; Zbl 1344.53072)] it is shown that \[ \mathcal{CO}^0(\mathcal{S}(\gamma))= 1_L \] where \(1_L\) denotes the Hochschild cohomology unit in \(\mathrm{HH}^*(L;L)\). One of the main results of the present paper, Theorem 1.7, captures a non-trivial piece of the image of \(\mathcal{S}(\gamma)\) under the (full) open closed string map \(\mathcal{CO}^*\), not seen by the degree zero part of it. This non-trivial piece detects the homology class of the loop's orbits on the Lagrangian and can help to prove that the closed-open map is injective in some examples. Several applications of this result, in particular split-generation and non-formality results for real Lagrangian submanifolds of some toric varieties are provided throughout the paper.
