      Given an irrational number \(x \in (0,1) \), let \([a_1(x),a_2(x),a_3(x),\ldots]\) be the continued fraction expansion of \(x\), which is induced by the Gauss map \(T: [0,1) \to [0,1)\). Let \(m\) be a fixed integer number and real number \(A_i >1\), where \(0\leq i \leq m-1\). Define the set\N\[\NS_m=S_m(A_0,\ldots,A_{m-1}):= \{ x\in [0,1): c_i A^n_i \leq a_{n+i}(x)<2c_i A_i^n, 0\leq i \leq m-1, \text{for infinitely}\, n\in \mathbb{N}\},\N\]\Nwhere \(c_i \in \mathbb{R}_{>0}.\) The quantities \(\beta_i\) are equal: \(\beta_{-1}=1\), \(\beta_i=A_0\cdots A_i, 0\leq i \leq m-1\). Let\N\[\Nd_i=\inf \{s\geq 0: P(T,-s\log|T'(x)|-s\log b_i+(1-s)\log \beta_{i-1})\leq 0\} \; \text{for any} \; 0\leq i \leq m-1,\N\]\Nwhere \(P(T,\psi)\) is a pressure function. This is the main result of the paper:\N\NTheorem. \(\dim_H S_m=\min_{0\leq i \leq m-1} d_i\). \N\NAs applications of the theorem, the authors obtain optimal lower bounds of the Hausdorff dimension of some sets.
