The authors propose a general framework for reducing geometric structures, extending classical coisotropic Poisson reduction, which itself generalizes Marsden-Weinstein reduction in symplectic geometry. Central to their approach is the concept of constraint manifolds -- smooth manifolds equipped with a submanifold and a simple distribution -- enabling the reduction to quotient spaces \(M_{\mathrm{red}}=C/D\).\N\NThey introduce the notion of constraint vector bundles, along with associated constraint differential forms and multivector fields, and establish a constraint Serre-Swan theorem identifying these bundles with finitely generated projective modules over constraint algebras.\N\NThe framework is designed to unify and generalize various reduction procedures in geometry, including those for Lie algebroids, Dirac structures, and potentially Courant algebroids and Lie groupoids.
