      The concept of a frame for a Hilbert space has been extended in various ways. For instance, Hilbert-Schmidt frames were introduced in [\textit{G. Sadeghi} and \textit{A. Arefijamaal}, Mediterr. J. Math. 9, No. 3, 525--535 (2012; Zbl 1266.46010)] and have since been studied by several authors, such as those in [\textit{W. Zhang}, Result. Math. 73, No. 1, Paper No. 4, 20 p. (2018; Zbl 1401.46012)] and [\textit{Y.-N. Li} and \textit{Y.-Z. Li}, Int. J. Wavelets Multiresolut. Inf. Process. 19, No. 5, Article ID 2150011, 15 p. (2021; Zbl 1481.42039)].\N\NIn this paper, the authors introduce the concepts of generalized Hilbert-Schmidt frame (GHS frame) and oblique dual GHS-frame (ODGHS-frame). To that end, the notion of generalized Hilbert-Schmidt operator (GHS-operator) is introduced as a bounded operator \(U \in \mathcal{B}_2 (\mathcal{K_1}, \mathcal{K_2})\) (\(\mathcal{K_1}\) and \(\mathcal{K_2}\) being separable Hilbert spaces) such that for an arbitrary orthonormal basis \(\{ e_k \}_{k \in K_1}\) in \(\mathcal{K_1}\) \N\[ \N\| U \|_2 = (\sum_{k \in K_1} \| U e_k\|)^{1/2} < \infty. \N\] \NIf \(\mathcal{K_1} = \mathcal{K_2} = \mathcal{K}\), then \(\mathcal{B}_2 (\mathcal{K}) = \mathcal{B}_2 (\mathcal{K_1}, \mathcal{K_2})\) denotes a Hilbert-Schmidt operator (HS-operator).\N\NLet \(\mathcal{H}\) be a separable Hilbert space. Then an operator sequence \N\[ \N\Omega = \{ \Omega_j \in \mathcal{B} (\mathcal{H}, \mathcal{B}_2 (\mathcal{K_1}, \mathcal{K_2})) \}_{j \in J}\N\] \Nis a GHS-frame for \(\mathcal{H}\) with respect to \((\mathcal{K_1}, \mathcal{K_2})\) if there exist constants \(0 < A \leq B < \infty\) such that \N\[ \NA \| f \|^2 \leq \sum_{j \in J} \| \Omega_j f \|_2 ^2 \leq B \| f \|^2, \quad \text{for} \quad f \in \mathcal{H}. \N\]\N\NThe authors also introduce the notion of an oblique dual GHS-frame (ODGHS-frame) and investigate different aspects of the theory of oblique dual GHS-frames.
