Let \(F\) stand for a dyadic field, that is, a finite extension of \(\mathbb{Q}_2\). The authors show that the \(L\)-parameter of any simple (in the sense of Gross-Reeder) supercuspidal representation of \(\mathrm{Sp}_{2n}(F)\) is irreducible as a \((2n+1)\)-dimensional representation of the Weil group \(W_F\) of \(F\). In particular, they show that any \(L\)-packet of \(\mathrm{Sp}_{2n}\) containing a simple supercuspidal representation of \(\mathrm{Sp}_{2n}(F)\) is singleton.\N\NThe proof is based on the twisted endoscopic character relation between \(\mathrm{Sp}_{2n}\) and \(\mathrm{GL}_{2n+1}\).
