Let \(\mathbb{K}=\mathbb{C}\) or \(\mathbb{R}\). Let \(\Omega _{\mathbb{K} ^{2}}(d_{1},\ldots ,d_{n})\) denote the space of polynomial mappings \( F=(f_{1},\ldots ,f_{n}):\mathbb{K}^{2}\rightarrow \mathbb{K}^{n}\) where \( \deg f_{i}\leq d_{i}\) for \(1\leq i\leq n\). Let \(F,G\in \Omega _{\mathbb{K} ^{2}}(d_{1},\ldots ,d_{n})\). We say that \(F\) is topologically (respectively linearly) equivalent to \(G\) if there are homeomorphisms (respectively linear isomorphisms) \(\Phi :\mathbb{K}^{2}\rightarrow \mathbb{K}^{2}\) and \(\Psi : \mathbb{K}^{n}\rightarrow \mathbb{K}^{n}\) such that \(F=\Psi \circ G\circ \Phi \). The authors describe all the linear and topological types of quadratic polynomial mappings \(F:\mathbb{K}^{2}\rightarrow \mathbb{K}^{n}\) for \(n>2\) i.e. in \(\Omega _{\mathbb{K}^{2}}(2,\ldots ,2)\). In general case (for \(n\geq 5\)) they obtain 34 linear types in the complex case and 41 in the real case. From this they describe all topological types in \(\Omega _{ \mathbb{K}^{2}}(2,\ldots ,2)\) -- 18 in the complex case and 22 in the real case. Moreover topological equivalence coincides with the equivalence with respect to the group of polynomial automorphisms. The case \(n=2\) i.e. \( \Omega _{\mathbb{K}^{2}}(2,2)\) was considered by the first two authors [ibid. 529, 441--456 (2017; Zbl 1372.14054)].
