    If one replaces in the standard Fourier-analytical definition of \[ A^s_{p,q} (\mathbb R^n), \ A\in \{B,F\}, \ s\in \mathbb R, \ 0<p<\infty, \ 0<q \le \infty, \] the basic Lebesgue space \(L_p (\mathbb R^n)\) by the Morrey space \[ {\mathcal M}^{u}_p (\mathbb R^n) = \Lambda^{\rho} L_p (\mathbb R^n), \quad -n \le \rho <0, \quad np = |\rho|u, \] then one obtains the Morrey smoothness spaces \[ {\mathcal N}^s_{u,p,q} (\mathbb R^n) = \Lambda_{\rho} B^s_{p,q} (\mathbb R^n) \] and \[ {\mathcal E}^s_{u,p,q} (\mathbb R^n) = \Lambda_{\rho} F^s_{p,q} (\mathbb R^n). \] The critical line such that \(\Lambda_{\rho} A^s_{p,q} (\mathbb R^n)\), \(A\in \{B,F \}\), is continuously embedded in \(L_{\infty} (\mathbb R^n)\) is \(s = |\rho|/p\) and the critical line ensuring that \(\Lambda_{\rho} A^s_{p,q} (\mathbb R^n)\) consists entirely of regular distributions is \(s= |\rho| \Big( \max \big( \frac{1}{p},1 \big) -1 \Big)\). The paper studies in detail what happens on these critical lines.
