Differential operators having Sobolev-type Gegenbauer polynomials as eigenfunctions
From MaRDI portal
The author investigates orthogonal polynomials on \((-1,1)\) with respect to a Sobolev-type inner product which generalize the Gegenbauer polynomials. It is proved that these polynomials are eigenfunctions of a differential operator of (in general) infinite order.
