A \(C^\ast\)-algebra is approximately finite-dimensional (AF) if it is an inductive limit of finite-dimensional \(C^\ast\)-algebras. The authors introduce the broader class of rationally approximately finite-dimensional (RAF) algebras, defined by the requirement that tensoring with two relatively prime UHF algebras yields an AF algebra (Definition~4.1). They show that for RAF algebras that are \(\mathcal{Z}\)-stable (that is, tensorially absorbing the Jiang-Su algebra \(\mathcal{Z}\)), the ordered \(K_0\)-group is unperforated and a rational dimension group (Proposition~4.3). A range theorem is proved: every countable rational dimension group arises as the ordered \(K_0\)-group of a stable separable \(\mathcal{Z}\)-stable RAF algebra (Theorem~4.4), and such algebras are classified by ordered \(K_0\) in the stable case (Theorem~5.3), with a refined invariant in the nonstable setting (Corollary~5.4).\N\NThe second main ingredient is the notion of a simplex bundle, that is, a locally compact bundle over the real line whose fibers are Choquet simplices. Such bundles arise naturally in \(C^\ast\)-dynamics: for a one-parameter automorphism group, the KMS states at each inverse temperature form a simplex, and these assemble into the KMS-bundle. Building on earlier work identifying KMS-bundles with proper simplex bundles, the authors construct, from any proper simplex bundle with singleton fiber at zero, a rational dimension group with a shift automorphism whose state-space bundle recovers the given bundle (Proposition~3.6).\N\NIn Section 6 the authors connect this structure to dynamics on \(\mathcal{Z}\)-stable algebras. They analyze ideals, traces, and crossed products of \(\mathcal{Z}\)-stable RAF algebras (Lemmas 6.1--6.4), and establish simplicity of certain crossed products under \(K\)-theoretic simplicity assumptions (Proposition~6.2). The main result shows that for any proper simplex bundle with singleton fiber at zero there exists a \(2\pi\)-periodic flow on the Jiang-Su algebra whose KMS-bundle is isomorphic to the given bundle (Theorem~6.5). As a consequence, the realization result extends to any unital separable monotracial \(\mathcal{Z}\)-stable \(C^\ast\)-algebra (Theorem~6.9), yielding in particular a wide supply of non-approximately inner flows (Corollary~6.10).
