Given an embedded Lagrangian sphere in a symplectic manifold \((M, \omega)\), we can take any small neighborhood of the sphere and construct the corresponding symplectic Dehn twist. The existence of such neighborhood is guaranteed by the Weinstein theorem. Their properties have been studied via their induced actions on the Fukaya category, whose objects are Lagrangian submanifolds and morphisms the Floer chain groups between Lagrangians. This study has been started by \textit{P. Seidel} in these seminal papers [in: Proceedings of the international congress of mathematicians, ICM 2002, Beijing, China, August 20--28, 2002. Vol. II: Invited lectures. Beijing: Higher Education Press; Singapore: World Scientific/distributor. 351--360 (2002; Zbl 1014.53052); Topology 42, No. 5, 1003--1063 (2003; Zbl 1032.57035)]. In the paper under review, the authors discuss a new type of Dehn twist. Let \(\mathbb{K}\) be a field of arbitray characteriscs, and \(\Gamma \subset\mathrm{SO}(n+1)\) a finite subgroup for which there exists \(\tilde{\Gamma} \subset\mathrm{Spin}(n+1)\) such that the covering homomorphism \(\mathrm{Spin}(n+1) \longrightarrow\mathrm{SO}(n+1)\) restricts to an isomorphism between \(\Gamma\) and \(\tilde{\Gamma}\). Assume that \((M, \omega)\) is a Liouville manifold and \(P\) a Lagrangian submanifold diffeomorphic to \(S^n/\Gamma\). Next, we consider a Weinstein neighborhood \(U\) of \(P\) and its universal covering such that the preimage of \(P\) is a Lagrangian sphere which can be identified to the unit sphere in \(\mathbb{R}^{n+1}\). Now, the \(\Gamma\)-invariance of the Dehn twist of the preimage induces a symplectomorphism \(\tau_P\) in \(U\) which is called the Dehn twist along \(P\). The main result of the paper is Theorem 1.2, that states the existence of a quasi-isomorphism: \[ \tau_P(\mathcal{E}) \simeq \mathrm{Cone} (\mathrm{hom}_{\mathcal{F}} (\mathcal{P}, \mathcal{E}) \otimes_{\Gamma} \xrightarrow{ev_{\Gamma}} \mathcal{E}) \] under the assumptions of \(n \geq 3\) and \(2c_1(M) = 0\). Here, \(\mathcal{E}\) is a Lagrangian brane, that is, an exact Lagrangian submanifold in \((M, \omega)\) (equipped with a local system); and \(ev_{\Gamma}\) is the equivariant evaluation map. An interesting fact of this construction is the sensivity to the characteristic of the ground field \(\mathbb{K}\). The paper includes some introductory material concerning Lagrangian submanifiolds with local systems in the Fukaya categories, but the rest of the paper is devoted to the proof of the main theorem. This is really a relevant result in the theory and a starting point of new developments.
