    A general weighted integral inequality for two continuous functions on an interval \([a,b]\) is presented. From this result new inequalities for the incomplete beta and gamma functions and the incomplete confluent hypergeometric function are obtained. This result implies various integro-differential inequalities, some sharp Opial type inequalities in a general form included. In addition, related estimates which involve Erdélyi-Kober and Riemann-Liouville fractional integrals, the error function, the confluent hypergeometric function, and Dawson's integral are given. It is well known that the ``incomplete'' functions and integro-differential inequalities play an important role in probability theory, mathematical statistics, physics, financial mathematics, differential equations theory, and many other disciplines.
