In a previous article [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 365, No. 12, 6625--6667 (2013; Zbl 1280.22021)] the author studied the structure of the irreducible admissible \(p\)-modular representations of \(\text{GL}_2({\mathbb Q}_p)\) giving a description of the invariants of congruence subgroups. In the present paper he does this for certain representations of length 2 of \(\text{GL}_2({\mathbb Q}_p)\) appearing in the \(p\)-modular Langlands correspondence. These representations (called automorphic atoms of length 2) are extensions between two principle series representations of \(\text{GL}_2({\mathbb Q}_p)\). The author uses the realisation of the atom defined by Breuil. In the explicit description of the invariants an important role is played by certain Iwasawa modules. The technical proofs require calculations on Witt vectors. The results have an application to the mod-\(p\) cohomology of modular curves over \(\mathbb Q\).
