The authors study the following notion of \textit{visibility}. Let \(D\subset\mathbb{C}^n\) be a complete Kobayashi hyperbolic domain and let \(p, q\in\partial D\), \(p\neq q\). We say that \(p, q\) have visible geodesics if there exist neighborhoods \(U\), \(V\) of \(p\), \(q\), respectively, with \(U\cap V=\emptyset\), and a compact \(K\subset D\) such that for any real Kobayashi geodesic \(\gamma:[0,L]\longrightarrow D\) with \(\gamma(0)\in U\), \(\gamma(1)\in V\) we have \(\gamma([0,L])\cap K\neq\emptyset\). We say that \(D\) has the visibility property if any \(p, q\in\partial D\), \(p\neq q\) have visible geodesics. The visibility property is weaker than the Gromov hyperbolicity. The authors prove that if \(D\subset\mathbb{C}^n\) is a complete hyperbolic bounded domain such that \((D,k_D)\) is Gromov hyperbolic, then \(D\) has the visibility property if and only if the identity mapping \(\operatorname{id}_D:\longrightarrow D\) extends as a continuous surjective mapping \(\varPhi:{\overline D}^G\longrightarrow\overline D\), where \({\overline D}^G\) denotes the Gromov compactification. Moreover, \(\varPhi\) is homeomorphic if and only if \(D\) has no geodesic loops. The main results of the paper are the following theorems. \begin{itemize} \item Let \(D\subset\mathbb{C}^n\) be a bounded convex domain with \(\mathcal{C}^\infty\) boundary. If all but finitely many points \(p\in\partial D\) are of finite D'Angelo type, then \(D\) has the visibility property. \item Let \(D\), \(D'\) be bounded, complete hyperbolic domains. Assume that \(D\) has a Stein neighborhood basis and \(D'\) has the visibility property. Suppose there exists a \(p\in\partial D\) such that \(\partial D\) is \(\mathcal{C}^3\)-smooth and strongly pseudoconvex at \(p\). If \(F: D\longrightarrow D'\) biholomorphic, then \(F\) admits a non-tangential limit at \(p\). \item Let \(D\subset\mathbb{C}^n\) be a complete hyperbolic bounded domain with Dini-smooth boundary and assume all boundary points are locally \(\mathbb{C}\)-strictly convex. Then \(D\) has the visibility property. \item Let \(D\subset\mathbb{C}^n\) be a domain, \(p\in\partial D\), and \(U\) a neighborhood of \(p\) such that \(D\cap U\) is convex and has the visibility property. Then for any neighborhood \(V\) of \(p\) with \(V\subset\subset U\), there exists a \(C>0\) such that \(k_{D\cap U}(z,w)\leq k_D(z,w)+C\), \(z,w\in V\). \end{itemize}
