By using a suitable fixed point theorem, the author gives sufficient conditions for the existence of at least one, two or three positive solutions respectively, for the following nonlinear impulsive periodic boundary value problem \[ \begin{aligned} &x'(t)+a(t)x(t)=f(t,x(t)), \quad \text{a.e. } t\in [0,T]\setminus\{t_1,\ldots,t_p\},\\ &\Delta x(t_k)=x(t_k^+)-x(t_k)=I_k(x(t_k)), \quad k=1,\ldots, p,\\ &x(0)=x(T). \end{aligned} \] The main results are illustrated by examples. The obtained results generalize many results from the existing literature.
