The paper studies \(K3\) surfaces admitting a purely non-symplectic automorphism of order 50, i.e., an automorphism whose action on the 2-holomorphic non degenerate form of the surface is the multiplication by a primitive root of unity of order 50. The aim of this note is to show that, in any characteristic different from 2 and 5, a \(K3\) surface with a purely non-symplectic automorphims \(\sigma\) of order 50 is isomorphic to the example given in [\textit{S. KondÅ}, J. Math. Soc. Japan 44, No. 1, 75--98 (1992; Zbl 0763.14021)]. This proves that the \(K3\) surface in question is unique. The proof is done studying powers of the automorphism \(\sigma\) and possibilities for their fixed locus, either in the tame case or when the base field is \(\mathbb C\).
