The author reconsiders the so-called bisingular pseudo-differential operator of \textit{L. Rodino} [Ann. Sc. Norm. Super. Pisa, Cl. Sci., IV. Ser. 2, 287--302 (1975; Zbl 0308.35081)]. A precise Weyl formula is given for the asymptotic expansion of the counting function \(N_A(\lambda)\) of the eigenvlues, in the case of a self-adjoint positive operator \(A\). A basic example is provided by the tensor product \(A= A_1\times A_2\) on the product of compact manifolds \(M= M_1\times M_2\), where \(A_j\) is an elliptic pseudo-differential operator on \(M_j\), \(j= 1,2\). Writing \(\zeta\) for the zeta function of the eigenvalues, one obtains \[ \zeta(A, z)= \zeta(A_1, z)\zeta(A_2, z). \] If \(\zeta(A_1,z)\) and \(\zeta(A_2,z)\) have a common pole \(\rho\), one concludes \[ N_A(\lambda)\sim c_1\lambda^\rho\log\lambda+ c_2\lambda^\rho. \] In the case when \(A_j\) is the Laplacian on a Riemann manifold \(M_j\), \(j= 1,2\), as the author shows this formula has an interesting connection with the Dirichlet divisor problem of the analytic number theory, see for example \textit{H. Iwaniec} and \textit{C. J. Mozzochi} [J. Number Theory 29, No. 1, 60--93 (1988; Zbl 0644.10031)].
