Let \(A\) and \(B\) be finite dimensional algebras over an algebraically closed field. The author introduces the simple gluing algebra \(\Lambda\) by identifying two vertices of the respective Gabriel quivers of \(A\) and \(B\). It is proved that several homological properties behave nicely with respect to this operation. For example, the singularity category of \(\Lambda\) is just the product of the singularity categories of \(A\) and \(B\). Similar properties are proved for the Gorenstein projectives, and the Cohen-Macaulay Auslander algebra in the CM-finite case. Applications are given to the description of singularity categories of type \(\mathbb{A}\) cluster-tilted algebras.
