In this interesting, impressive and well-written paper the author proves local Strichartz estimates for the Schrödinger equation with initial data in modulation spaces. As an application, the local wellposedness of the initial value problem, the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation \[ i \partial_t u + \Delta u = |u|^2 u\quad\text{in }\mathbb{R}^d,\qquad u(0) = u_0 \] with initial data \(u_0\) in these spaces, is obtained (Theorem~1.5). The author combines several very advanced and recent results from harmonic analysis like \(l^2\)-decoupling theorems or oscillatory integral operators (Section 5). It would be interesting to see how the techniques from this paper can be adapted to treat general power-type nonlinearities involving non-integer exponents and \(x\)-dependent coefficient functions. Of course, global Strichartz estimates remain to be found as well.
