The Jacobson theorem states that the enveloping algebra \(U(g)\) of a finite dimensional Lie algebra \(g\) over an algebraically closed field of prime characteristic \(p\) is a finitely generated module over its center, denoted by \(Z(g)\). The first main result of the paper under review is an extension of this theorem to the case of iterated Hopf Ore extensions (IHOEs) over a field \(F\) (see their definition in [\textit{A. N. Panov}, Math. Notes 74, No. 3, 401--410 (2003; Zbl 1071.16035); translation from Mat. Zametki 74, No. 3, 425--434 (2003)]). Next a classification of \(2\)-step 2-step IHOEs is given.
