Let \(A\) be an associative superalgebra, one attaches to it the \textit{sequence of supercodimensions} \(c_n^{\sup}(A)\), \(n \ge1\). In case of characteristic zero, it is well known that for a PI-superalgebra such a sequence is exponentially bounded, and the limit \(\exp^{\sup}(A) = \lim_{n\to\infty}\sqrt[n]{c_n^{\sup}(A)}\) exists and is an integer that can be explicitly computed. \par Now, the authors introduce the notion of a \textit{fundamental superalgebra} over a field of characteristic zero. They prove that if \(A\) is such an algebra, then \[ C_1 n^t (\exp^{\sup}(A))^n \le c_n^{\sup}(A)\le C_2 n^t (\exp^{\sup}(A))^n,\] where \(C_1 > 0\), \(C_2\), \(t\) are constants and \(t\) is a half integer that can be explicitly written as a linear function of the dimension of the even part of \(A\) and the nilpotency index of the Jacobson radical. Recall that such kind of estimates were known for associative PI-algebras and superalgebras in case of characteristic zero, but for the both sides having different polynomial degrees \(t_1\) and \(t_2\). The authors also give a characterization of fundamental superalgebras through the representation theory of the symmetric group. As a consequence, the authors prove that if \(A\) is a finitely generated PI-superalgebra, then the inequalities above still hold and \(t\) is a half integer. It follows that the limit \(\lim_{n\to \infty} \log_n \frac{c_n^{\sup}(A)}{(\exp^{\sup}(A))^n}\) exists and is a half integer.
