A Zinbiel algebra is a vector space \(A\) equipped with a binary operation \(\prec\) verifying the relation \[ (x\prec y)\prec z=x\prec(y\prec z+z\prec y) \] for all \(x,y,z\in A\). The notion of Zinbiel algebra was introduced by \textit{J.-L. Loday} [Math. Scand. 77, No. 2, 189--196 (1995; Zbl 0859.17015]. The Koszul dual [\textit{V. Ginzburg} et al., Duke Math. J. 76, No. 1, 203--272 (1994; Zbl 0855.18006)] of the Zinbiel operad is the Leibniz operad. In this paper the authors proved classification theorems for the variety of complex 5-dimensional Zinbiel algebras. In particular, it is proved that the variety of complex 5-dimensional Zinbiel algebras has dimension 24, it is defined by 16 irreducible components and it has 11 rigid algebras.
