The author considers different boundary value problems associated with a planar system whose nonlinearity is controlled by two isochronous Hamiltonians. As a particular case, one can think of a scalar second order equation with an asymmetric nonlinearity lying, roughly speaking, between two curves of the Fučík spectrum. Different situations may arise, including ``resonance'', which may be ``simple resonance'' or ``double resonance'', according to which resonant Hamiltonian is approached. In this case, the existence of solutions to the considered boundary value problem is obtained by assuming some Landesman-Lazer type of conditions. Concerning the Dirichlet problem for a scalar second order equation, the author is able to prove for the first time a double resonance result, in the line of the main results obtained for the periodic problem in [\textit{C. Fabry}, J. Differ. Equations 116, No. 2, 405--418 (1995; Zbl 0816.34014)] and [\textit{A. Fonda} and \textit{M. Garrione}, J. Differ. Equations 250, No. 2, 1052--1082 (2011; Zbl 1227.34037)]. The proof relies on the shooting method, together with careful estimates in the phase plane.
