The author constructs a new equivalence relation on the unbounded Kasparov modules. Such an equivalence relation captures the kernel of the bounded transform. The equivalence is expressed in terms of the unbounded Kasparov modules and consists of homotopies with extra degeneracy conditions. The paper is well motivated and clearly written.
