In this paper the authors present a definitive result about the global well-posedness and scattering (i.e. small solutions scatter to free solutions when \(t\rightarrow\infty\)) for the cubic Dirac equation for small data in the critical space \(H^1(\mathbb R^3)\). Amazingly, using suitable coordinate frames, they are able to obtain a sharp end-point \(L^2_tL^\infty_x\) Strichartz estimate. Since they obtain the \(L^2L^\infty\) estimate in adapted frames, they need to derive energy estimates in similar frames to recover the \(L^2_{t,x}\) estimate. They also split the cubic Dirac equation into a system of two half Klein-Gordon equations that they use to apply the Picard iteration method. Defining concise function spaces where the Picard iteration method works, they finally are able to obtain the right inequalities to prove the global well-posedness result.
