A locally conformally Kähler (lcK) metric \(g\) on a complex manifold \((X, J)\) is a Hermitian metric that locally admits a conformal change \(\exp (-f )g|_U\) making it Kähler. Equivalently, the associated \((1, 1)\)-form \(\Omega := g(J_-,_-)\) satisfies \(d\Omega =\theta\wedge\Omega\) where the \textit{Lee form} \(\theta =df\) is a closed \(1\)-form. In the present article the authors classify and investigate locally conformally Kähler structures on four-dimensional solvable Lie algebras up to linear equivalence. As an application they give many examples in higher dimension, here including lcK structures on Oeljeklaus-Toma manifolds. The approach is done by a case-by-case analysis of the locally conformally Kähler structures on four-dimensional reductive Lie algebras studied by \textit{D. V. Alekseevsky} et al. [Int. J. Math. 26, No. 6, Article ID 1541001, 29 p. (2015; Zbl 1319.32017), Theorem 4.6].
