This survey presents several important results of locally conformaly symplectic and Kähler geometry. The standard reference for locally conformaly Kähler geometry is the book by \textit{S. Dragomir} and \textit{L. Ornea} [Locally conformal Kähler geometry. Boston, MA: Birkhäuser (1998; Zbl 0887.53001)]. Nevertheless, a lot of developments were published after the year 1998. Many progresses were also done recently for locally conformaly symplectic geometry. The author included a long list of references, to which the reader is referred for the precise statements as well as for the techniques used. The last part of this note shows how these geometries can be used to give precise mathematical formulations to problems of classical and modern physics.
