In [Arab. J. Math. 6, No. 1, 21--29 (2017; Zbl 1445.47048)], \textit{G. A. Okeke} and \textit{M. Abbas} compared the convergence rates of a hybrid Picard-Krasnoselskii scheme with some iterative schemes for fixed points of a contractive mapping in a normed linear space. In the paper under review, the author, using the same techniques as in the above mentioned paper, compares the convergence rate of a Picard-Ishikawa hybrid scheme with some other schemes. He shows that the Picard-Ishikawa hybrid iterative scheme converges faster than each of the Picard, Krasnoselskii, Mann, Ishikawa, Noor, Picard-Mann and Picard-Krasnoselskii schemes, under the assumption that each of the schemes converges to the same fixed point of a self contractive mapping of a closed convex subset of a Banach space.
