The authors consider a spline space \(S\) generated by the scaled translates of the trivariate \(C^2\) quartic box spline defined by a set of 7 directions that forms a regular partition of \({\mathbb R}^3\) into a tetrahedra. Then the spline quasi-interpolation operators \(Q_{\nu}\) \((\nu=1,2,3,4)\) are introduced, where \(Q_1\) is exact for trilinear polynomials, \(Q_2\) is exact for all polynomials contained in \(S\), and \(Q_{\nu}\) \((\nu=3,4)\) are exact for polynomials of total degree \(\leq 3\). Error estimates for these spline quasi-interpolation are given, too. Based on \(Q_{\nu}\), new cubature formulas (with given weights and nodes) are generated and their convergence and stability properties are studied. Finally, some numerical tests are presented.
