Floer's theory of Lagrangian submanifolds played an important role in symplectic geometry; coupling with \textit{M. Kontsevich's} homological mirror symmetry proposal [First European congress of mathematics (ECM), Paris, France (1992). Volume II: Invited lectures (Part 2). Basel: Birkhäuser. Prog. Math. 120, 97--121 (1994; Zbl 0872.57001)] it also played an essential role in a formulation of mirror symmetry in string theory. Motivated by the authors' introduction of the class of unobstructed Lagrangian submanifolds for which one can deform Floer's original definition of the boundary map by a suitable cochain and by the work of \textit{C.-H. Cho} and \textit{Y.-G. Oh} [Asian J. Math. 10, No.~4, 773--814 (2006; Zbl 1130.53055)], the introduction of the notion of weakly unobstructed Lagrangian submanifolds was given in their previous paper [Lagrangian intersection Floer theory. Anomaly and obstruction. Part II. AMS/IP Studies in Advanced Mathematics 46,2. Providence, RI: American Mathematical Society (AMS); Somerville, MA: International Press, 397--805 (2009; Zbl 1181.53003)] which turns out to be the right class for Lagrangian submanifolds which can be related to the mirror symmetry of Fano toric \(A\)-model and Landau-Ginzburg \(B\)-model proposed by physicists. In this paper, the authors investigate the connection between this class of Lagrangian submanifolds and the work of \textit{A. B. Givental} [Proc. Inter. Congress of Math. Zürich. Basel: Birkhäuser. 472--480 (1994; Zbl 0863.14021)] which advocates that the quantum cohomology ring is isomorphic to the Jacobian ring of a certain function which is called the Landau-Ginsburg superpotential. Also by combining the authors' s previous results (loc. cit.), they also apply this approach to study the symplectic topology of Lagrangian fibers of toric manifolds.
