A vector bundle \({\mathcal E}\) over a smooth projective variety \(X\) is said to be \emph{weak Fano} if the corresponding projective bundle \({\mathbb P}_X({\mathcal E})\) is weak Fano (its anticanonical bundle is nef and big). Classification of rank two weak Fano bundles on projective spaces and on smooth cubic hypersurfaces in \({\mathbb P}^4\) are known (see Section 1.3 in the paper under review and references therein). The main result of this paper (see Thm. 1.1) is the classification of rank two weak Fano bundles over a smooth complete intersection \(X\) of two quadrics in \({\mathbb P}^5\): either the vector bundle decomposes as sum of line bundles: (i) \({\mathcal O}_X \oplus {\mathcal O}_X(-1)\), (ii) \({\mathcal O}_X \oplus {\mathcal O}_X\), (iii) \({\mathcal O}_X(1) \oplus {\mathcal O}_X(-1)\); or is a unique non-trivial extension of the ideal of a particular curve by a concrete line bundle, to be precise, the pairs (curve, line bundle) are the following: (iv) (line, \({\mathcal O}_X\)), (v) (smooth conic, \({\mathcal O}_X(-1)\)); or is like in previous cases but the ideal is twisted by \(1\): (vi) (non-degenerate smooth elliptic curve of degree \(6\), \({\mathcal O}_X(-1)\)), (vi) (non-degenerate smooth elliptic curve of degree \(7\) defined by quadratic equations, \({\mathcal O}_X(-1)\)). On any arbitrary smooth complete intersection of two quadrics in \({\mathbb P}^5\), all cases are effective.
