The main results are the following four theorems. -- Let \((X,\omega_X)\) be a compact hermitian manifold and let \(Y\subset X\) be a closed submanifold equipped with a hermitian form \(\omega_Y\). If \(v_+(X,\omega_X)<+\infty\), then \(v_+(Y,\omega_Y)<+\infty\). -- Let \(X\) be a compact complex manifold of dimension \(n\). (1) If there exists a hermitian metric \(\omega\) and an \(\varepsilon>0\) such that \(dd^x\omega\geq0\) and \(\varepsilon\omega\wedge dd^c\omega^{k-1}\), \(q=2,\dots, n-2\), then \(v_+(\omega) < +\infty\). (2) If \(n=3\) and \(X\) admits a metric \(\omega\) such that \(dd^c\omega\geq0\), then \(v_-(\omega)>0\). In particular, if \(n=3\) and \(\omega\) is pluriclosed, then \(0<v_-(\omega)\leq v_+(\omega)<+\infty\). -- If \(X\) is a six-dimensional nilmanifold \(X=\varGamma\setminus G\) endowed with a left-invariant complex structure, then there exists always a plurisigned hermitian metric on \(X\). The authors present the full classification of such manifolds. -- If \(X\) is a six-dimensional solvmanifold, i.e., a compact quotient of a connected solvable Lie group by a closed subgroup of real dimension \(6\) admitting a left-invariant complex structure with holomorphically trivial canonical bundle, then there exists always a plurisigned metric on \(X\).
