In K. Erdmann's classification of tame group algebras, most of the derived equivalence classes have been determined, with few exceptions where scalars occur in the relations. The authors settle some of these cases, using Zimmermann's observation that generalized Reynolds ideals are invariant under derived equivalence. They compute the generalized Reynolds ideals for algebras of dihedral and semidihedral type.
