Let \(X\) be a Banach space. The famous Bishop-Phelps theorem asserts that the set of norm attaining linear functionals in \(X^{\ast }\) is norm dense in \(X^{\ast }.\) The Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás theorem is a quantitative version of the Bishop-Phelps theorem and reads as follows: if \(x\in B_{X}\) and \(x^{\ast }\in B_{X^{\ast }}\) satisfies \(\operatorname{Re} x^{\ast }(x)>1-\frac{ \varepsilon ^{2}}{2}\), then there exist \(y\in S_{X}\) and \(y^{\ast }\in S_{X^{\ast }}\) such that \(y^{\ast }(y)=1\), \(\left\| x^{\ast }-y^{\ast }\right\| <\varepsilon \) and \(\left\| x-y\right\| <\varepsilon\). In the present paper, among other interesting results, the authors prove a bilinear version of the Bishop-Phelps-Bollobás theorem for complex bilinear forms on \(C_{0}(L_{1})\times C_{0}(L_{2})\) and arbitrary locally compact topological Hausdorff spaces \(L_{1}\) and \(L_{2}\).
