Functional differential parabolic equations: integral transformations and qualitative properties of solutions of the Cauchy problem (Q308399): Difference between revisions

The author studies the long-time behavior of solutions for the Cauchy problem for second-order parabolic functional differential equations which contain differential operators and translation operators acting with respect to spatial variables. In the first chapter, he investigates equations where only low-terms are nonlocal. The main results of this chapter are the classical unique solvability of the Cauchy problem, and the generalized weight asymptotic closeness of the studied solution and the Cauchy problem solution with a transformed initial-value function for the heat equation. The second chapter is concerned with the regular equations with nonlocal principal terms, that is, equations which contain superpositions of second derivatives and translation operators with respect to any spatial coordinate directions. The main result of this chapter says that if the right-hand part of the equation is a homogeneous strong elliptic operator, then the asymptotic closeness is obtained for the investigated solution and the Cauchy problem solution for the differential parabolic equation obtained from the original functional differential equation by considering all translations equal zero. The third chapter deals with a parabolic integrodifferential equation with one spatial variable where the Bessel operator and a linear combination of generalized translation operators act with respect to that variable. Under assumption that the solution is even with respect to spatial variable, the author proves the unique solvability of such a problem. He also constructs the one-dimensional fundamental solution and studies its properties. The last chapter is focused on the general singular case, where there are spatial variables for which second derivatives and translation operators act with respect to them, and spatial variables for which Bessel operators and generalized translation operators act with respect to them. If the evenness condition for the solution holds, then he proves the unique solvability and the weight asymptotic closeness of its solution and the solution of a similar problem for certain differential singular equation. The fundamental solution for this general singular case is also investigated. The studied problems have many applications, such as the multilayer plates, envelopes theory, the diffusion processes theory, including biomathematical applications, and models of nonlinear optics.
