This paper is devoted to studying a class of sequence spaces \(m_{u,p}=m_{u,p}(\mathbb{Z}^d)\) with \(0<p\le u<\infty\) related to the Morrey space, which is a natural generalization of \(\ell_p\). Here, the space \(m_{u,p}=m_{u,p}(\mathbb{Z}^d)\) consists of all complex-valued sequences \(\lambda=\{\lambda_k\}_{k\in \mathbb{Z}^d}\) such that \[\|\lambda\|_{m_{u,p}}=\sup_{j\in\mathbb{N}_0; m\in k\in \mathbb{Z}^d}|Q_{-j,m}|^{1/u-1/p} \left(\sum_{k:\ Q_{0,k}\subset Q_{-j,m}}|\lambda_k|^p\right)^{1/p}\] is finite, where \(Q_{i,k}=2^{-i}(k+[0,1)^d)\). The authors consider and obtain several basic features of the space \(m_{u,p}\). The first one is the embedding property. It is proved that \[m_{u_1,p_1}\hookrightarrow m_{u_1,p_1}\] if and only if \(u_1\le u_2\) and \(p_2/u_2\le p_1/u_1\), and this embedding is never compact. Secondly, the authors describe the predual space \(\chi_{u,p} \) and the double predual space \(m^{00}_{u,p}\) of \(m_{u,p}\). Thirdly, a Pitt type theorem for \(m_{u,p}\) is obtained: let \(1<p< u<\infty\) and \(1<q<\infty\), then any bounded linear operator from \(m^{00}_{u,p}\) to \(\ell_q\) is compact. Finally, they characterize the compactness of embeddings of related finite dimensional spaces and obtain the asymptotic behavior of the dyadic entropy numbers.
