In the paper, the one-parameter system \[\dot{x}=-2+2y+\alpha x^2,\,\dot{y}=-2xy\] is considered, where \(\alpha\neq 0,\pm1,-\frac23\). The author's aim is to determine the cyclicity of the center \(C(0,1)\) under small multi-parameter quadratic perturbations. For this, appropriate \textit{essential perturbation} is chosen as in [the reviewer, Bull. Sci. Math. 122, No. 2, 107--161 (1998; Zbl 0920.34037)], then the respective focus quantities are calculated, thus establishing that the cyclicity of \(C\) is two. Also, some known results about generalized Liénard systems are used to verify that there is no limit cycle surrounding the weak focus of order 2.
