High-order splines on Riemannian manifolds (Q6072980): Difference between revisions

In this survey paper, the authors describe the theory of polynomial curves and geometric splines on Riemannian manifolds. This generalization to Riemannian manifolds is based on replacing the Euclidean metric by the Riemannian metric and the usual derivatives by covariant derivatives. An application to optimal control theory is presented too.
