In this rather long paper, the authors show an exact asymptotic formulas in noncommutative geometry. This is based on Tauberian's theorem for singular values of noncommuting operators. The proof of the latter was done in a new way based entirely on abstract operator theory, this avoids explicit use of the pseudodifferential calculus.
