The main goals of this monograph are to state and develop a general theory of \(n\)-fold Čech derived functors of group-valued functors, generalizing the Čech derived functors introduced by Pirashvili as an algebraic analog of the Čech (co)homology of open covers of topological spaces. Countless applications to group theory, Lie algebra theory, algebraic \(K\)-theory, and cyclic homology are given: short and long exact sequences, extensions of known exact sequences, explicit calculations of homology groups, generalizations and reinterpretations of old constructions. Chapter~1 expounds the general theory of \(n\)-fold Čech derived functors of group-valued functors. Chapter~2 is devoted to the investigation of crossed \(n\)-cubes, equivalently cat \(n\)-groups, in various aspects. Chapter~3 obtains generalized Hopf-type formulas: a generalization of the Brown-Ellis higher Hopf formulas for integral group homology; a Hopf-type formula in algebraic \(K\)-theory expressed as a short exact sequence; Hopf-type formulas for the homology of homotopy \((n+1)\)-types. Chapter~4 is devoted to the non-abelian homology of groups. In particular, various exact sequences of the non-abelian homology of groups with respect to the two variables are given. Sufficient conditions are established for the non-abelian homology groups to be finitely generated, finite, \(p\)-groups, torsion groups, or groups of exponent \(q\). Chapter~5 is devoted to non-abelian (co)homology of Lie algebra. A non-abelian homology of a Lie algebra with coefficients in a Lie algebra is constructed, which generalizes the classical homology of Lie algebras and extends Guin's non-abelian homology of Lie algebras. The author also introduces the second non-abelian cohomology of a Lie algebra with coefficients in a crossed module generalizing the classical second cohomology of Lie algebras. Then, for a coefficient short exact sequence of crossed modules having a section over the ground ring, he gives a nine-term exact non-abelian cohomology sequence extending the seven-term exact cohomology sequence of Guin. Finally, Chapter~6 studies some mod \(q\) theories: mod \(q\) non-abelian tensor products and mod \(q\) group homology and cohomology theories which are unified into a mod \(q\) Tate-Farrell-Vogel group cohomology theory.
