Stability of the separable solutions for a nonlinear boundary diffusion problem

From MaRDI portal

Abstract: In this paper, we study a nonlinear boundary diffusion equation of porous medium type arising from a boundary control problem. We show that its solutions have infinite speed of propagation, may blow up in finite time, or become extinct in finite time, or exist for a long time, with a precise decay or growth rate. We further investigate the asymptotic behavior of its solutions and prove the stability of its separable solutions. Some sharp convergence rates and higher order asymptotics are also obtained.
