Continuous-time predictive control of constrained nonlinear systems

From MaRDI portal

A new predictive control strategy based on the integration of a continuous-time control law with the optimization of the future performance is described. The proposed strategy uses a continuous minimization of an infinite horizon performance cost. It is shown that continuously predicted estimates of the boundaries of the maximal admissible set for the system state result in an asymptotically optimal continuous-time control law. The prediction of the future plant behaviour evolves as the output of an autonomous nonlinear system. Closed-loop stability and convergence of an adaptation process are guaranteed without the need for end-point constraints. For the entire collection see [Zbl 0934.00030].
