Higher order asymptotic expansions to the solutions for a nonlinear damped wave equation (Q520228)

The paper refers to the classical Cauchy problem for a nonlinear damped wave equation in \(N\)-dimensional space, \(N=1,2,3\), where the nonlinear source \(F(u)\) is submitted to some special assumptions. The large time behavior of the solution is investigated. One shows sufficient conditions for the existence of a unique global solution to the Cauchy problem and proves suitable estimates for this solution. Further, one constructs nonlinear approximations for the global solution to the Cauchy problem. The obtained estimate can be read as a description of the large time behavior of the global solution.
