    Let \(X\) be a real linear space with \(\dim X \geq N\) and \(\| ~\cdot~, \dots,~\cdot~\| : X^N \to {\mathbb R}\) be a function. The pair \((X,\| ~\cdot~, \dots ,~\cdot~\| )\) is called a linear \(N\)-normed space if (N1) \(\| x_1, \dots , x_N\| = 0\) if and only if \(x_1, \dots , x_N\) are linearly dependent; (N2) \(\| x_1, \dots , x_N\| = \| x_{j_1}, \dots , x_{j_N}\| \) for all permutation \((j_1, \dots , j_N)\) of \((1, \dots, N)\); (N3) \(\| \alpha x_1, \dots , x_N\| = | \alpha| \| x_1, \dots , x_N\| \); (N4) \(\| x + y, x_2, \dots , x_N\| \leq \| x, x_2, \dots , x_N\| + \| y, x_2, \dots , x_N\| \) for all \(\alpha \in {\mathbb R}\) and all\break \(x, y, x_1, \dots , x_N \in X\). A function \(f: X \to Y\) between \(N\)-normed spaces is called an \(N\)-isometry if \[ \| x_1 - y_1, \dots, x_N - y_N\| = \| f(x_1) - f(y_1), \dots, f(x_N) - f(y_N)\| , \] for all \(x_1, \dots, x_N, y_1, \dots, y_N \in X\). The main aim of the paper under review is to study the generalized Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability of linear \(N\)-isometries in linear \(N\)-normed Banach modules over unital \(C^*\)-algebras, Poisson \(C^*\)-algebras and Lie \(C^*\)-algebras associated to the Trif functional equation \[ d \cdot C_{d-2}^{l-2} f\biggl(\frac{x_1+\dots +x_d}{d}\biggr)+ C_{d-2}^{l-1}\sum_{j=1}^d f(x_j) = l \cdot \sum_{1\leq j_1< \dots < j_l\leq d} f\biggl(\frac{x_{j_1} + \dots + x_{j_l}}{l}\biggr), \] where \(q=\frac{l(d-1)}{d-l}\) and \(r = -\frac{l}{d-l}\) for positive integers \(l, d\) with \(2\leq l\leq d-1\). The authors' work is based on applications of Trif's theorem [cf. \textit{T. Trif}, J. Math. Appl. 272, No.~2, 604--616 (2002; Zbl 1036.39021)]. To study the stability, they consider a further classical norm on a \(N\)-normed space without assuming any relationship between them. A different framework where there is a useful relationship is multi-normed spaces was studied by \textit{H. G. Dales} and \textit{M. S. Moslehian} [Glasg. Math. J. 49, No.~2, 321--332 (2007; Zbl 1125.39023)]. The presented results can be regarded as interesting generalization of the first author's results in [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 293, No.~2, 419--434 (2004; Zbl 1051.46052)] and [J. Lie Theory 15, No.~2, 393--414 (2005; Zbl 1091.39006)]. The interested readers are referred to \textit{Th.M. Rassias} [Acta Appl. Math. 62, No.~1, 23--130 (2000; Zbl 0981.39014 )] for a comprehensive account on stability of functional equations.
